About this item

The TASCAM DR-40XP is a handheld field recorder for musicians, content creators and anyone recording on location. It records 32-bit float WAV or MP3 up to 96kHz, with adjustable stereo mics, dual XLR/TRS inputs, and four-channel capture for combining direct and ambient sound. It also doubles as a USB-C audio interface for recording straight into a DAW, with built-in tuner, overdub and reverb tools included.

32-bit float recording up to 96kHz, so loud sounds won't clip even if gain isn't perfect
Adjustable X-Y/A-B stereo condenser mics plus dual XLR/TRS combo inputs with +48V phantom power
Records 4 channels at once, mixing the built-in mics with external sources
Ultra-low-noise HDDA preamps for clean sound from quiet to loud sources
Runs up to 18 hours on AA batteries, records to microSDXC cards up to 512GB
USB-C lets it work as a 2-in/2-out audio interface with a computer or iOS device
