About this item

This full-size chess set pairs a hornbeam and sycamore piece set with a pyrography-decorated beech and birch board, hand-finished in Poland. Felt bases keep the pieces gliding smoothly, while the board's felt-lined interior and metal clasps let it double as a secure storage case. Algebraic coordinates along the edges make it easy to follow or record games, whether you're learning or playing competitively.

Chess pieces carved from hornbeam and sycamore wood with felt-padded bases; King 4.33in (11cm), Queen 3.66in (9.3cm), Pawn 2.28in (5.8cm)
Beech and birch board decorated with a burned-in (pyrography) pattern, plus letter and number coordinates along the edges for recording moves
Board opens to a felt-lined interior that cradles each piece, and closes with metal clasps to keep everything secure
Full-size board: 21.7 x 21 x 1.18in (55 x 54 x 3cm), with 2.24 x 2.24in (5.7 x 5.7cm) squares
