Klein Tools VDV501-851 Scout Pro 3 Tester Starter Set Cable Tester

About this item

The Klein Scout Pro 3 kit (VDV501-851) checks and traces voice, data, and coax video cables in one tool. It reads out length, wiremap, and fault type — Open, Short, Miswire, or Split-Pair — on a backlit screen, and comes with 5 LanMap plus 5 CoaxMap remotes for tagging multiple runs at once. Note it's built for unenergized Ethernet lines, not PoE circuits.

• Tests voice (RJ11/12), data (RJ45), and video (coax F-connector) cables — works on unenergized Ethernet lines only, not PoE
• Measures cable runs up to 2000 ft (610 m) for accurate length checks
• Flags Open, Short, Miswire, and Split-Pair faults so you can pinpoint wiring problems
• Backlit LCD shows cable length, wiremap, cable ID, and test results even in dim spaces
• Built-in tone generator helps trace cables, pairs, and single conductors (analog probe VDV500-123 sold separately)
• Comes with 5 LanMap and 5 CoaxMap remotes to identify and map several cable runs at once
• For PoE testing, look at Klein's VDV501852, VDV501853, or VDV501770 kits instead
